A Stalled Tesla

You might not be able to stall an electric car, but you can certainly stall a trade on an electric car maker’s stock. Such was the case with Tesla on Friday. It was all looking so promising, but my entry didn’t work out and it was all I could do to exit without a loss. Technically it was a loss because we have to count commissions, but that’s the cost of doing business. Fortunately, Tesla got its motor going again, and there was a second chance. Here’s the chart:

Some Very Un-Spooky Trades

Sorry, but I just cannot do the whole Halloween headline thing. Just like I can’t be doing with changing my Twitter name to something silly for a month. It’s funny, Americans go mad for Halloween, doing the costumes and parties and the whole nine yards. For us Brits it’s a relatively recent phenomenon. I never once dressed up in a scary costume as a kid, and I don’t know anyone else who did either. Calm in The Storm

The big stock pick for Friday was obviously Tesla. It was a wild ride upwards with some serious profit to be had. I’m not posting it here because I’ve posted plenty of Tesla trades recently, and because I don’t want it to look like I’m bragging. Or setting unrealistic expectations. Huge wins like Tesla was offering, whilst not uncommon, are not an everyday occurence and I’m aware that by posting them too often I may give the impression otherwise. Anyway, it’s easy enough for anyone interested to go and look at a Tesla chart — the winning trades are blindingly obvious. Instead, let’s look at a couple of smaller winners that are more indicative of the kind of thing we find every day of the working week.

Making Hay

As is so often the case after a holiday, Tuesday proved to be a bountiful session filled with opportunity. It was one of those days where you could jump on board almost anything and ride it for profit. Neither skill nor experience were required to make money on Tuesday. I’ll share three trades here, starting with the least profitable.
